What does cheerleading involve?

Pom & Cheers - Each level has compulsory pompom actions and legs stances – all of which must be in sequence. Cheers are created for each level and this section must be performed with pompoms.

Tumbling – Dynamic tumbling adds excitement to cheer routines. Tumbling and gymnastics require many hours of practice to eliminate error and accidents. Some tumbles may include square handstands, bridge with raised feet, backward roll, log roll (mini stars) and handstand pops.

Kicks, Splits, Jumps & Turns – Each element of this section is a compulsory part of a cheer routine and points will be deducted in competitions if excluded.

Dance – High impact dance moves are mandatory (excluding mini stars which are fun, descriptive moves). This section brings the cheer routine together but is done strictly without pompoms. Cheer dance is fast, clear, powerful and fun.

Stunts – Cheerleading stunts are taught in a natural progression and level base. Stunts require body movements to be perfected so each member of the squad is protected and feel safe at all times.

Team Leadership – Every squad performing in competitions requires a team captain. The captain must be committed to the team and be able to lead by example.
